I couldn't have planned a better time to start my blog and share this little beauty with you so here goes.......
The sun is out in ENGLAND.....and so are we!
I'm sure the last thing Ryan wanted to hear this morning at 8:30am (seen as though he only got home at 4am from the 'Boys Bank Holiday Bash') was me asking 'So darling, where can we go today!
As he nursed his hangover and I, un-sympathetically dragged him out of bed, we actually set off to go to Lyme Park, changed our minds twice on the way, then ended up at this beautiful secluded spot in Bakewell. Just look at that view over Monsal Dale!
We absolutely love taking Gus (our gorgeous French Bulldog) on days out. It takes us away from the stresses of trying to re-build our house, takes us away from work and gives us that break that we always seem to need!
We stopped off at a pub/hotel named the 'Monsal Head Hotel' for a cup of tea (which would normally be a prosecco, but, I'm trying to be a good girl at the minute! Pahaha) and let the beautiful breeze blow those cobwebs away. This pub has the most beautiful view (second picture down) Very popular with dog walkers and Motor bikers. I was slightly disappointed that i chose to wear the most in appropriate footwear i could find for a 'Country Dale walk' as there were great little paths you could take to the viaduct there. We took a little detour on the way home and found some gorgeous little cottages. All littered with wild flowers and the smallest front doors you have ever seen - even I would struggle getting in!
Anyway - This is a 'definitely must visit' place and ideal if you are just passing through. I think we will be paying a visit again very soon, only next time we might take the motor bike after work and stop off for some tea before the nights start closing in.
Now onto Ray Donovan to finish my Monday night - the only other thing that brings joys to Mondays!
